Mr. SF Leather Contest Celebrates Its 30th Anniversary
Last Saturday, leather fetishists of all kinds came together from all over the country to attend the 30th annual Mr. San Francisco Leather contest. Born out of desire to recognize and promote young trailblazers who embody the spirit of the leather community, the contest has become a time-honored San Francisco tradition. But earning the title of Mr. SF Leather requires much more than just a hot body that looks great in tight-fitting leather (although that certainly helps); the contestants must also demonstrate a genuine commitment to serving the leather community as leaders, activists and organizers. While the competition was fierce, one man stood out among the rest and was named 2008 Mr. San Francisco Leather.
