After 3 action-packed months of Ultimate Surrender's dramatic
Summer Vengeance elimination tournament, the time has finally come to crown a Champion. Out of the 16 top-seated wrestlers who first entered the competition, only the "Iron Maiden," Dia Zerva and the "Hungarian Nightmare," Syd Blakovich, remain.
The
Championship match between Zerva and Blakovich will be streamed live to UltimateSurrender.com members at
7pm PST on Tuesday, September 2nd. The match will be commentated by 2007 Summer Vengeance Champion Vendetta and
FuckingMachines.com director Tomcat. Interactive pre-match interviews and chat room discussions will begin at 6pm.
While Blackovich, a competitive cage-fighter and 2-time season champion, is widely regarded as one of UltimateSurrender's best wrestlers, Zerva, an ex-Marine and student of judo, has quickly proven that it's possible to go from being virtually unknown to virtually unstoppable, even in one's first season.
"It's going to be a good match," said Ultimate Surrender director Matt Williams. "Zia's big and strong—heavier. Syd is lighter, faster, more knowledgeable and has better experience. Is size going to overtake knowledge? Will it be quicker younger faster, or bigger stronger heavier? It's like David and Goliath."
