Kink.com launched a new phase of its KinkOnDemand.com service today with the debut of the site's first third party content, a video from legendary fetish photographer, director and entrepreneur Peter W. Czernich, founder and principal creative force behind the German fetish brand Marquis.

Pure White Room, directed by Czernich and originally released on DVD in Europe, features a medical fetish theme with bondage, complex latex fashion, and the focus on esthetics that has made Marquis the most famous name in European fetish. The DVD, like most of Czernich's titles, has previously been unavailable in the US except to devoted collectors, who had to order it from Europe at great expense. Pure White Room is the first of more than 30 Marquis videos scheduled for release weekly on KinkOnDemand.com through late 2008 and early 2009.

Czernich has been active in the fetish scene for 20 years, beginning in the late 1980s when he published the German edition of fetish magazine Skin Two and thereafter founded , the single most influential periodical of the burgeoning late '80s and early '90s German fetish scene. ceased publication in 1994, after which Czernich founded fetish magazine Marquis.

The Marquis brand has since grown to encompass video production, book publishing, hugely popular fetish events and a fetish showroom in Solingen, Germany. A spinoff magazine, Heavy Rubber, was launched in 1997 and continues today in concert with Marquis.

After 10 years as a publisher and entrepreneur, Czernich began taking photographs, and has since gained international acclaim for his highly stylized photographs of practically every famous fetish model in the world. Says Czernich: "Eventually, there were so many images in my head that I was not happy anymore to leave it to the commissioned photographers." He has since shot several hundred models and hundreds of thousands of published photos in addition to directing many videos.

Friends of late porn star Cole Ryder have issued an official press release regarding his passing. Although final results of his autopsy are still pending, the coroner’s first impression is that the immediate cause of Cole’s death was congestive heart failure. After 5 years of acting as Kink.com's unofficial Consigliere, Hogtied and UltimateSurrender Director, Matt Williams, has officially accepted the title of Creative Director. As Kink.com continues to expand, it becomes more and more necessary to have someone dedicated to overseeing the development of new projects and websites, and managing, coaching and training current and future site Directors. A perfect fit for his skills and experience, Matt stepped into the role with enthusiasm and vision, even though doing so meant stepping down as Hogtied's Director and recruiting his own replacement as his first order of business. While he'll clearly be missed as the site's Director, everyone is thrilled that his talent and creativity will live on in all of Kink.com's other websites.

There's frequent grumbling from readers of this blog when I classify Randy Blue and Sean Cody as "amateur" sites. I won't argue that many of the sites have exceeded big-studio quality ... but they didn't start this way; they've changed the game.
