World Famous Folsom Street Fair Celebrates 25 Years
Last week San Francisco’s SOMA district played host to over 400,000
leather enthusiasts and spectators at the 25th Annual Folsom Street
Fair, a treasured and historic San Francisco tradition. Having grown out
of a crucial need in the mid 1980s to create opportunities where the gay
and leather community could connect to health services and vital
information, fundraise, and generally enhance the visibility and power
of the gay rights movement, this year’s Folsom Street Fair not only
celebrated 25 years of Leather and Fetish pride, but also 25 years of
cultural education, political activism, and social revolution.
And naturally, Kink.com was front and center at this year’s Folsom Street
Fair, showing off their talented riggers and models, recruiting new
faces for several of their websites, and generally celebrating kinkiness
in all its forms.
