Laura Antoniou is the author of a series of BDSM classics known collectively as "The Marketplace." The world she created is an insular, secretive society of SM initiates regulated by a strict hierarchy. Its premise is in many ways similar to what Kink.com is trying to archive with TheUpperFloor.com, so her work was of particular inspiration to both Kink.com CEO Peter Acworth and TheTrainingOfO.com director James Mogul, as they were beginning to create much of the detail and back-story for the new site. It seemed a natural step, therefore, to invite Ms. Antoniou to the Armory to get her firsthand input. Not only did she have fruitful discussions with both Peter and James, but she was also the invited guest of honor at the TheUpperFloor.com's initial test shoot, The First Supper. Ms. Antoniou, an enthusiastic and experienced player, naturally felt right at home.

I can't remember a more exhausting but terrific GayVNs. Despite nearly two months of drama, speculation, rage and near collapse. There was craziness, of course (Lucas vs. Corrigan; the VIP bar closing at 9:30), and some surprises, but mostly it was as people predicted: Raging Stallion's epic To The Last Man took home somewhere between 13 and 18 awards, depending on how you do the math.

Various obligations of dubious value kept me from actually seeing most of the awards; I followed them via Twitter from above mentioned VIP bar and talking to people who were either furious, elated, blaze or high. But the things you do need to know: Diesel Washington brought his mother; the charming and learned Mason Wyler took everyone bowling; the Visconti Triplets can not speak a word of Italian; Bel Ami boys really are as grass-fed as they seem; the red carpet was actually blue; I love <a href="http://www.nakedsword.com/movie.aspx?movieID=19619
&refid=AEBN-039999&rstype=2">Erik Rhodes; the publisher of Unzipped is really into adult babies; and no matter how often you see it, Barrett Long's penis is really, really incredible.

Here are the parts we DO remember.

Raging Stallion's To The Last Man swept the GayVN Awards tonight, bringing home lucite blocks for Best Picture, Best Director and ten other categories. In addition Raging Stallion Exclusives Ricky Sinz and Logan McCree won Best Top and Performer of the Year respectively. Titan, Hot House, Channel 1 and Falcon all came away with big wins, though the highlight of the night was Michael Lucas who not only looked handsome, but showed incredible restraint in not introducing host Janice Dickinson as the World's Oldest Supermodel.
